On the 23rd September the NEC ( National Exhibition Center ) , Birmingham , hosted the great GAMES DAY 2007 event. It was my first GD experience and i must say that it was a really rewarding and entertaining experience. Started by visiting the Forge World Goodies and boy that place was swarming with people , but for my surprise i found out that one of my favourite artists was there giving autographs and chatting up with the folk , ladies and gentleman , Karl Kopinsky himself

, having a chance to exchange some words with him and being rewarded with a really awesome sketch on my Sketchbook wich left me jaw opened for the rest of the

day until today . Proceeding to the forge world stuff , i had the occasion to learn more stuff about the new upcomming aircraft models by Forge World designer Simon Egan and also took a peek at the concept ideas that makes part of the whole production process .
Overwhelmed by my first contacts in GD , i forgot to run to the Black Library stands to get my hands on the newest Horus Heresy novel and some Art prints first , wich unluckily when i got there were allready sold out ( damn you fans !!! i want some too !). After countless viewings of amazing stuff from models , displays , scenarios ( really amazing works ) and the Golden Deamon submissions and my attempt on the art competition submission , i found out that The Great Alex Boyd and GW Creative Director Jonh Blanche

thanks for creating the imagery that made GW what it is today) were on the Studio section and that my friends ,that was the high moment of the day , the simple fact of being in the same space with this great names that helped shape my teenagehood and insipiration was a dream came true. In the Design Studio i had the oportunity to see a big deal of how the design process is done: from concepts , photoart , 3D aided sculpting ( wich i didnt even dreamed it was made that way ) to The hardware that makes the shapes and all that stuff, Really worth to have seen it all . In the Media entertainment area games like Warhammer Mark of Chaos , Warhammer Online Age of reckoning , Warhammer 40k DOW and the highly anticipated Squad Command for the portable handheld consoles ( PSP , DS ) were being queued and played by hundreds of eager fans , and some were even screaming on the Squad command

Multiplayer Stands like if it was some kind of football match wich is a good thing and i cant wait to put my hands on that game. Having met some friends in the area i only regret that there wasnt any beer in the several restaurants and take aways that surrounded the area , but its quite understandable in such a event, well have some propper beers next time Rob :) .
The Great Finale was the presentation of the Golden Deamon Awards and the Slayer Sword Trophy , a great Cheers and Congratz to the talented people that won this Accolades , its amazing the quantity of the highly talented people who took part on this contests .

Concluding , Games DAy 2007 was The Experience , im really glad to have drag my arse from home at 4:35 am to Richmond to get a a Coach to the event . Cheers!
